Birka Gotland is the Baltic Sea's new pleasure cruiser offering recreation and experiences for everyday escape. The vessel is operated by Gotland Alandia Cruises, founded in 2023 as a joint venture between the shipping companies Viking Line and Gotlandsbolaget. Birka Gotland will offer cruises and regular services between Stockholm, Mariehamn, and Visby starting in spring 2024.

Your workplace encompasses the entire ship, and you will often be the first crew member our guests meet upon boarding. Your duties include monitoring passengers and staff as well as maintaining general order on board. You are often the first on the scene in case of accidents and medical emergencies, so you will work closely with the onboard nurse. Our operations run around the clock, primarily during evenings and nights.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Completed security guard training/security guard authorization
• Several years of documented work experience in maintaining order within the police, military, or security industry.
• Training certificate for expandable baton and handcuffs
• Good knowledge of healthcare and First Aid
• Basic computer skills

Since the security language on board is English, we expect you to be fully proficient in both spoken and written English. Other language skills are an advantage.

Security guard authorization is a requirement.

A valid background check regarding legal compliance is required upon employment, and several digital courses must be completed before starting work on board.

Working on Birka Gotland means, among other things, that you will have your own cabin and that work clothes and all meals on board are included.

Salary according to SEKO Maritime Workers' Ferry Agreement, collective agreement.

The position is for extra work as needed.
